Kate Greer Yoga

I try to offer from the heart in everything I do.

My vinyasa training was originally sculpted through my training at Sonic Yoga, in Hell's Kitchen, New York City where I studied with Jonathan Fields, columnist for FitYoga, and Lauren Hanna, assistant to Shiva Rea. From there I began to study at Kula Yoga in Tribeca, primarily with David Regelin and the studio director, Schuyler Grant. Sri Dharma Mittra reminds me to make my practice an offering when I stray off the path.

I am working toward certification in both Kundalini and Anusara yoga. My first ever Kundalini class was with Gurmukh Kahl Khalsa and I have studied with her and Hari Kaur at the Golden Bridge Center in New York. From there, my heart took me to Yogi Bhajan's ranch in Espanola, NM, where I participated in the one-month intensive Kundalini teacher training in August 2008. I am deeply grateful to the beautiful Sikh community who welcomed me and my unborn child to their lives for those weeks.

My Anusara studies grew out of a desire to refine my practice and to align not only my body but also my heart. Through my study of Anusara with Elena Brower, Amy Ippoliti, Darren Rhodes, Noah Maze, Desiree Rumbaugh, and all the wonderful teachers at Vira Yoga in New York, I have enhanced my connection between the physiological and energetic. I have deepened my understanding of both where to apply more energy in practice and life and where to soften.

I make it my goal to wake up each morning saying 'yes' to life and to pause throughout the day with gratitude for the many people who fill it. With honor, awe, and a tidal wave of love for the people who make up my far flung Kula — Namaste.
